About the Job

The Opportunity
Bloomsbury is a leading independent publisher in the UK with a Trade Nonfiction division that’s flourishing, as it continues to publish some of the most dynamic and significant works of nonfiction out there. Last year the team won Nonfiction Book of the Year at the Bookseller Awards for Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People about Race by Reni Eddo- Lodge, and other recent books include phenomenal Sunday Times bestseller and Waterstones Book of the Month, Peter Frankopan’s new history of the World, The Silk Roads, Sunday Times bestseller Utopia for Realists by Rutger Bregman, the historian who has just gone viral for calling out billionaires at Davos, and the original dementia memoir, Sunday Times bestseller Somebody I Used to Know by Wendy Mitchell.
We are looking for someone to join our expanding, award-winning Trade Nonfiction Publicity team, to lead the way in securing the most dynamic and impactful media coverage for some of today’s greatest writers and thinkers, across subjects as varied as history, politics, sex, literary criticism, philosophy, economics, psychology, art and memoir.
We have an incredible line-up this year. Some of the books we’re excited about include: Outrage is the New Black by Radio 1Xtra presenter Ashley Dotty Charles; Three Women by Lisa Taddeo - a debut about the sex lives and desires of three ordinary American women already loved by Dave Eggers and Gillian Anderson; the authorized history of Britain’s secret intelligence agency GCHQ to celebrate their 100 year anniversary; Doing Justice by ex-US Attorney Preet Bharara, the first person to be fired by Trump; a major biography of Lucian Freud by a man the artist phoned every day; How to be a Dictator by Samuel Johnson (Baillie Gifford) prize-winning author Frank Dikotter, and She Said by Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists who broke the Weinstein story.
