About the Job

Haus Publishing, a leading independent publisher of history, politics, current affairs, memoir and literary fiction in translation, is seeking a highly organised and motivated Publishing Assistant. A hugely varied role, the successful candidate will assist the Publisher with a number of tasks, including administrative, marketing, sales, publicity and editorial support to ensure the smooth running of the office.
Responsibilities include:
• Liaising with authors, translators and freelancers
• Managing submissions
• Proofreading and blurb writing
• Creating new content for website, newsletters and social media channels
• Managing queries and databases
The successful candidate will have some experience of working in a publishing, marketing or sales administration environment. A hard-working team player with a keen eye for detail, you will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a good telephone manner, first-rate copy-writing ability and will relish working on multiple projects to tight deadlines. You will have an interest in the areas in which we publish and be confident using MS Office and have some experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
