< £20,000, £20,000 - £30,000

Hinton House publishes books and resources for professionals working in education, therapy and social care. Our focus is on helping to improve the mental health and emotional and social well-being of children and young people.
As well as our publishing arm, the company also runs a successful specialist conference bookshop business, attending around 70 events each year throughout the UK.
We are based in modern offices, with free parking, just outside the village of Kings Sutton around 5 miles south of Banbury.
As part of a carefully planned expansion, we wish to recruit a Sales & Marketing Assistant to assist with the marketing and promotion of our titles, and to provide administrative sales support.
Administrative sales support including customer service
Liaison with our distributor, NBNi, and key account customers, including specialist cataloguing customers
Creation of online and print publicity and marketing materials, including assisting with compilation and product selection for our annual catalogue
Direct and digital marketing of our books, including liaison with authors
Undertaking sales and market research
Researching and booking our attendance at conferences and organising displays
Occasional travel for conference attendance is possible
Updating bibliographic databases and website content, including online customer accounts such as Amazon
In-house database management
We are looking for an organised and self-motivated individual with excellent IT, administrative and communication skills, both verbal and written, ideally with a background in sales or marketing, or previous experience in another aspect of publishing, although this is not essential. This is a new position and is an ideal role for someone looking to build and develop a career in publishing.
A willing and flexible attitude to working in a small business is essential, as is a desire to learn and grow in an expanding company. An interest in, and commitment to, the subjects published by Hinton House would be desirable.
Initially this is a part-time position of between 20-25 hours per week although it is envisaged that the role will grow to become full time. We can be flexible about how and when these hours are worked.
