About the Job

The role:
You will research, commission, develop and deliver new titles, new editions and associated digital resources in line with Pavilion's overall objectives and strategy. Pavilion are well known for and committed to producing high quality products. You will ensure Pavilion maintains this high level of service and will be committed to building new relationships with authors and others in the community that we work with. You will maximise profitability for your products. You will understand and contribute to different formats, especially appropriate to training and self-study. The role will involve close liaison with book authors, editorial, sales and marketing colleagues, as well as freelance editors.
Experience and knowledge required:
A proactive and commercial approach to list management and commissioning;
Strong understanding of the dynamics of health and social care and professional publishing and market conditions;
Thorough grasp of the economics of training material and book publishing
Negotiating and external relationship skills
Key Duties
Find new authors, and build relationships with key figures in the field of Adult and Child Protection in the first instance;
Ensure our training materials could be aligned to offer training services;
Plan, prioritise and carry out work to achieve targets;
Ensure fully-costed and appropriate publishing proposals are presented and approved;
Experience of digital publishing;
