About the Job

Hay House are looking for an Assistant Editor to join their busy London office. Hay House specializes in non-fiction , personal development and mind, body, spirit books, digital products , online courses and live events . This is a varied role that involves working with many departments and all aspects of the editorial workflow, and would suit someone with a minimum of one year's experience in an editorial role and a demonstrable understanding of the editorial process.
The Role
* Creating engaging , relevant and informative copy for covers , AI Sheets and the twice-yearly catalogue.Also general copy checking as required.
*Reworking of US cover copy for the UK market.
*Working in InDesign to adapt internal US-originated content for the UK market , and preparing files for print delivery.
*Building and maintaining excellent relationships with authors , and internal and external colleagues.
*Liaising with design and production departments to ensure the reprint and POD corrections are made in a timely fashion.
*Sourcing ideas for repackaging projects, and managing them through to print delivery.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a keen eye for detail and a proven ability for writing engaging copy for a variety of platforms. You will be working across multiple projects so must be proactive, able to prioritise a wide and varied workload and work to tight deadlines. Strong administrative skills and working as part of a team in a collaborative and flexible way are key. You will be proficient in InDesign and MS Office. Knowledge of the mind , body, spirit field will be an advantage.
