Are you an enthusiastic self-starter with excellent communication skills who can cope with managing various deadlines?
Emerald's Books Foreign Rights Executive will be responsible for increasing Emerald’s foreign rights revenue by negotiating and securing new translation rights deals; delivering and increasing revenues to agreed annual targets in this area of business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sale and administrative aspects of Emerald’s foreign rights across our diverse range of books. As such excellent communication and negotiation skills along with enthusiasm for selling and a strong understanding of customer and author care are fundamental to this role.
**Occasional UK and overseas travel will be required**
•Maintain and increase rights sales for a diverse portfolio of academic titles
•Strategically place titles with the best customers in each territory to achieve maximum return
•Maintain the day-to-day administration by submitting and tracking orders, providing quotations and negotiating prices
•Negotiate and manage contractual agreements to ensure terms and conditions are adhered to on an ongoing basis
•Provide insight and feedback on customer preferences, retail trends and the wider market
•Organise your own travel and attend key UK and international bookfairs as required
•Provide reports, forecasts and information required to inform the regular trading review

•Excellent negotiation, written and verbal communication skills
•Fluency in English and one or more foreign languages
•Commercially aware, proven sales skills and comfortable working to targets
•Enthusiastic, self-motivated team player who can establish strong relationships and has a highly organized approach
•An entrepreneurial mindset of always looking for new business and expanding existing business
•The ability to work within a busy team and forward thinking evolving company, reacting swiftly to the ever changing demands of an independent publisher
•Methodical; eye for detail; systematic

•Close liaison with customers, authors and internal departments
•Experience of rights sales within a book publishing environment
