Sales Development Officer

About the Job

We are looking for an energetic, people-person with previous sales experience to join our friendly, forward-thinking team at The Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF) as our Sales Development Officer. We are passionate about making a difference through the Christian faith and we want to see lives and communities transformed through our creative programmes and resources for individuals, churches and schools.
The main purpose of the role is to deliver sales of BRF resources across all channels including online, direct and trade.
Main areas of responsibility
Provide telesales to Christian retailers and other trade accounts
Grow sales opportunities with Christian retailers and other trade customers
Grow and develop relationships with key, special and export customers
Develop promotional activities and author events with retailers
Grow and develop sales and customer engagement through BRF Online
Develop sales with other internet retailers and online digital providers including Amazon Kindle and others
Develop a strategy to maximise income from BRF content e.g. digital subscriptions and other models for accessing our content
Develop a strategy for growing direct sales, including subscriptions, with existing customers and new sales opportunities with individuals, churches and Christian organisations
Involvement in organising and planning, and attendance at, exhibitions and events
Provide monthly sales reporting and analysis
Travel and occasional evening and weekend working is a requirement of this role.
Skills and experience
Previous experience in a sales environment (trade/direct/online)
Excellent customer relationship management skills
Ability to find and develop new customers and channels to market
Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
Excellent telephone manner
Ability to analyse and report on sales/marketing data and trends
Flexible and excellent team player
Ability to prioritise a varied workload and multi-task
Excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office)
Excellent attention to detail
Strong commitment to the aims of the organisation
Full UK driving licence
Previous experience of telesales
Own car
28 days’ holiday per annum, including Bank Holidays
Auto enrolment pension scheme (8% employer contribution, 3% employee contribution)

Flexitime scheme (after successful completion of probation period)
