The opportunity
Bloomsbury is a leading international publishing house with sales offices in London, Oxford,
New York, Sydney and New Delhi. We are looking for a full-time Sales Executive to work in our busy sales department. This is a temporary contract for an initial period of 6-7 months to provide maternity cover.
This is a pivotal role suitable for someone with previous sales experience, preferably in a publishing environment. First-rate communication skills and bags of enthusiasm are also a pre-requisite.
The role
Management of a number of allocated specialist accounts
Selling and Promoting new titles and backlist to established and potential new customers
Researching and finding new sales opportunities
Processing orders and dealing with customer queries relating to deliveries, invoices, credit notes
Mailing books samples, catalogues and other sales material
Provide sales support for the Sales Directors as required.
Skills, knowledge, experience
Excellent sales skills
Ability to work to deadlines and to meet sales targets
Good IT skills and experience with databases
A professional manner and an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range external clients and internal stakeholders
The ability to prioritise a demanding workload
A self-motivated approach and the ability to work well both individually and as part of a team
