Digital Project Manager (Bloomsbury, Oxford)

About the Job

Reporting to: Senior Digital Project Manager
The role
Assume responsibility for some high profile and large projects aimed at the Academic market including Bloomsbury Self Service Platform. All projects will need to be scoped and the end-to-end delivery of new digital projects and existing product enhancements will need to be delivered to time, to budget and within agreed quality/scope parameters.
Key responsibilities:
Project Management
Scope and manage the end-to-end delivery of new digital projects and existing product enhancements to time, to budget and within agreed quality parameters
Develop full scale project plans
Use Agile and Prince 2 inspired methodologies as appropriate
Create and maintain risk logs, issue logs and change request documentation
Provide effective Project Management services across the portfolio ensuring that time, cost and quality are addressed.
Manage complex relationships across the business to ensure effective communications to stakeholders across Bloomsbury.
Own, manage and maintain key supplier relationships and act as internal point of reference/project planning advice for Publishing teams
Financial Responsibility/Authority
Establish, monitor and report on budgets, escalating to relevant project team members if appropriate
Suggest ways of reducing costs whilst maintaining quality
Lead status meetings and provides status reports for projects
Represent the digital development team at meetings and advise as appropriate on work flow and best practice
Work with agency side developers to find technical solutions to product requirements
Keep track of quality assurance (including management of suppliers)
Organise user testing and working with project team to ensure that user feedback is incorporated into the development of the product
Ensure that site development(s) fit with Bloomsbury’s digital development strategy and best practice
Digital mentoring and support
Provide informal mentoring and support on digital projects (possibly also participate in training workshops) for staff who need to improve their digital skills and understanding (eg editorial teams)
Skills, knowledge and experience
*Good knowledge and experience of Academic Publishing
*Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
*Problem solving and analytical mind
*Good working knowledge of XML
*Ability to meet deadlines and juggle workloads
*Have a passion for digital innovation
*A proactive, "can-do" attitude
*Be an innovative self starter
*Have an excellent eye for detail and play a key role in continuing development in a fast-moving environment.
*Have four to five years experience in web-related role in Academic Publishing
