Globe Law and Business is a successful, independent publisher of books, eBooks and journals for the international legal community. Our markets are competitive, and effective marketing is key to our success.
Our new Head of Marketing will be a specialist who will develop the marketing strategy for our titles, and oversee the execution of all related activity. There is a particular emphasis on digital marketing, and key elements include direct marketing for print and digital, content marketing, data capture and building brand awareness.
We are all home-based, and pride ourselves on creating a friendly, supportive environment in which to work. Reporting to our Managing Director, Sian O’Neill, this is initially a part-time role, with the possibility of going full time within the next couple of years. Although working from home, you will need good access to London in order to attend meetings once or twice a month.
This is an interesting and varied job, and here’s a flavour of what’s involved, and what would be useful to equip you for the role.
What the job involves
∙ Contributing to the overall marketing strategy and preparing individual marketing plans for each title
∙ Producing content marketing campaigns for new titles
∙ Using all appropriate media, including direct email, advertising, social media
∙ Working with the publishing team to prepare copy for each campaign
∙ Implementing data capture campaigns in support of developing the marketing database, and creating a funnel of prospective purchasers
∙ Building greater brand awareness across the list
∙ Creating a system of reporting ROI of campaigns
What we’re looking for
∙ Graduate level marketeer, preferably with formal training in marketing
∙ Campaign planning and coordination skills
∙ Compelling copywriting experience, both for digital and print delivery
∙ Strong commercial acumen, combined with experience of managing both revenue and cost budgets
∙ Current social and digital media marketing skills
∙ Self-motivated, and able to work to deadlines and budgets
∙ Good understanding of reporting and analytics
∙ Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to work across disciplines and communicate successfully with home-based colleagues
∙ Confident dealing face to face with authors and customers
∙ Publishing experience useful but not essential
