Publishing Assistant (Internship): Theatre Studies, Arden Shakespeare, Literary Studies and Classics (6 months)

The Academic Division of Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is looking for a hardworking, efficient and enthusiastic candidate to provide daily administrative and editorial support for the teams working on Theatre Studies, The Arden Shakespeare, Literary Studies and Classics.
Responsibilities may include
•Filing and archiving of paperwork
•Preparing, sending out and returning contracts
•Sending emails/letters of acknowledgement and rejection
•Sending out copies of published books
•Maintaining physical and electronic book files and records
•Arranging peer review of proposals and manuscripts
•Carrying out research into new projects
Skills, Knowledge, Experience
•Exceptional attention to detail and command of English spelling and grammar
•Well organised, efficient and hardworking
•Flexible, with ability to prioritise effectively and work independently
•Good time management with ability to meet deadlines and handle competing priorities
•Calm and able to solve problems under pressure
•Strong IT skills including competency in using Microsoft Office – Word and Excel
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Prior office work as evidence of the above experience
Desirable but not required
•A good degree in one of the relevant subjects
This is a full-time, paid internship based at our head offices, 50 Bedford Square, London WC1B 3DP. It is a temporary position for a 6-month period initially. Bloomsbury Publishing offers a competitive salary and generous staff discounts.
