Social Media and Publicity Executive
Place of work: Remote (ideally situated within easy reach of Cambridge for occasional meetings)
Hours: part-time (approx. 20 hours per week)

Bloodhound Books are at the forefront of the digital publishing revolution. We’ve sold millions of books worldwide and have a loyal and growing fanbase of readers in the UK and US.
Due to continuous growth, we are looking for a Publicity and Social Media Executive to drive promotions of new and existing titles as well as to raise the profile of Bloodhound Books.
Key responsibilities:
Develop and implement social media strategy for Bloodhound Books
Plan, schedule and implement social media launches for new titles (approximately 8 per month)
Plan and implement a strategy for the regular promotion of backlist titles
Maintain and develop relationships with key book bloggers, reviewers and influencers
Develop positive relations with our authors and build their confidence in your strategies
Grow Bloodhound’s following across our social media platforms and identify and act on new trends and developments in the area
Identify press and publicity opportunities to enhance the company reputation and raise the profile of our authors
Write occasional content posts for Bloodhound’s website with a mind on further enhancing our SEO
The ideal candidate:
Will be a strategic thinker who has significant experience in a social media and publicity role and will be an expert in the development and implementation of engaging social media campaigns
Be a self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision
Will have an in-depth knowledge of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and will have an interest and understanding of new trends in social media marketing
Will be an expert communicator who is able to generate engaging content
Ideally, you’ll have some experience in fiction publishing, but otherwise, you’ll come from another fast-paced, direct-to-consumer environment where generating social media engagement is a critical area of the marketing mix
You’ll be meticulously organised and have experience of adapting to constantly changing priorities
Will have a flair for and some basic aptitude in design
Will have a flexible and pro-active attitude to work
You’ll love good fiction and will be able to get excited about our great books!
