Desk Editor, Osprey Publishing
Adult Special Interest Division
We are looking for a well organised and highly literate individual to join our busy Editorial team, working on the list for Osprey Publishing, the leading illustrated, military history publisher. Osprey Publishing is part of Bloomsbury Publishing Plc.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the editorial project management of accurate and high-quality books, predominantly Osprey’s illustrated series but including some trade hardback and paperback titles, from receipt of the manuscript from the Commissioning Editor to the publication of the finished book, and act as in-house contact for freelance series commissioning editors.
You will work closely with commissioning editors, freelance series editors and key people in the Sales, Marketing and Production and Design teams, taking your books through every stage of the publication process and ensuring that administrative processes are followed and records meticulously kept, while maintaining positive professional relationships with external and internal partners.

∙ Copy editing and proofreading ability
∙ Good eye for detail
∙ Ability to work well under pressure
∙ Strong interpersonal skills
∙ IT competency and aptitude for learning new software
∙ Professionalism and a positive approach
∙ Budget management experience
∙ Minimum of one year’s experience in an editorial role
∙ Experience of project management and enthusiasm for history would be an advantage
This is a full-time position based at our Bloomsbury offices in Oxford: at Kemp House, Chawley Park, Cumnor Hill, Oxford, OX2 9PH, UK.
