Children’s and Education Sales Executive, Bloomsbury Publishing

The opportunity
Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is looking for an enthusiastic and organised individual with excellent communication and time-management skills to work in our fast-paced UK Children’s and Education sales department. The Sales Executive will manage a number of accounts from the education, school, library, wholesaler and high street sectors and provide administrative and organisational support to our small and friendly Children’s and Education sales team.

The role
•Maximise turnover and profit for a selection of accounts across education, school, library, wholesaler and high street
sectors
•Work with accounts on promotions and opportunities
•Attend relevant internal and external meetings and feedback from the accounts and customers
•Read and review submissions and give confident, informed opinions at acquisition and publishing meetings representing
the sales team
•Present education titles at highlights and meetings, both internally and externally
•Monitor market trends in children’s and education
•Attend events, conferences and launch parties representing Bloomsbury
•Liaise with Publicity & Marketing, Editorial and Sales Departments
•Provide support to the UK Children’s and Education sales team by running reports, keeping grids up to date, and any
other departmental admin as required
•This role reports into one of two sales managers in the Children’s and Education sales team and also has the support of a
sales assistant

Skills, knowledge and experience

•Excellent communicator who is confident dealing with people at all levels
•Excellent time-management and organisational skills
•Experience in multi-tasking and prioritising a heavy workload
•Ability to adapt and react quickly to change
•Good attention to detail
•Commercial acumen
•Strong Excel skills
•Working knowledge of Biblio, Nielsen, Midas, Cognos and Vista an advantage
•Knowledge of the UK children’s and education book market and publishing trends

The role is a full-time permanent position, based at Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP.
