At Thames & Hudson, one of the world’s leading publishers of illustrated books on the visual arts, we are looking for a new member of our dynamic Communications team to work as a Publicity Executive.
If you have at least one year’s experience in book or arts PR and in pitching for media coverage across print, broadcast and online to create arresting and sales-driving launch campaigns, this role provides an excellent development opportunity.
You will work on an exciting range of titles across the areas of design and lifestyle including books by innovators such as Michael Beirut and Anthony Burill, collaborations with the V&A and our Illustrators series conceived with Quentin Blake. You will lead the PR for our small list of innovative Children’s non-fiction and picture books by some of the finest children’s authors and illustrators.
You will run your own campaigns as well as support others, from researching the target media and connecting with influencers to organising author events including, in the case of the Children’s list, the creation, with the Marketing Designer, of events materials (showcards, workshop supplies, etc). You will also organise book prize submissions for our Children’s titles.
The role requires creativity and energy. You will have exciting ideas for launching new design and lifestyle titles and breaking debut Children’s authors. You will build collaborative relationships with both authors and colleagues. You will enjoy being a key member of a dynamic and supportive team and having the opportunity to attend events, festivals and exhibitions.
This is an exciting next step for someone with experience working on PR campaigns and who is looking to take on more responsibilities.
