About the Job

Faber & Faber are looking for a Rights Assistant. This is a varied and demanding role to support our busy Rights team, working across both adult and children's titles as well as our prestigious list of literary estates.
You will provide full administrative support to three members of staff. This will include handling and processing sub rights contracts; permissions work; working directly with foreign, US and domestic publishers to supply production materials; liaising with international co-agents; handling mailings; invoice chasing; organising book fairs and trips; creating sales materials; mail-outs; attending sales meetings; and all other department admin.
The ideal applicant will have a strong interest in working in publishing and specifically Rights. You will be enthusiastic and hardworking, keen to learn about Rights, and excited about working as part of a collaborative and proactive team to ensure the smooth running of the department and financial success. You will ideally have previous office experience, the ability to prioritise your work effectively, and excellent IT, administrative, communication, numeracy and problem-solving skills.
This is a full-time permanent position, the salary is £23,000 and the role reports into the Rights Director.
