Job Summary:

Lightning Source UK Ltd are seeking a highly motivated Marketing & Sales Coordinator, to join our UK Ingram Publisher Services (IPS) team based in Clerkenwell, London.

Ingram Publisher Services (IPS), part of the Ingram Content Group LLC, is a leading provider of sales, marketing and distribution services to independent publishers worldwide. Our network of sales reps and distributors span the globe, providing unparalleled market reach.

Reporting to the UK Sales and Marketing Director, to provide sales and marketing support to in-house sales departments; freelance UK/European sales teams and publishers, whilst also providing UK office administration.

Working as part of a small team, this is a varied role which requires excellent organisational skills and a strong sense of initiative.

Essential Duties:

Marketing


•Initial point of contact for publishers and client managers on routine enquiries and tasks
•Marketing support to in-house sales departments and freelance UK/European sales teams
•Create Marketing campaigns, through print and social, for our key titles with UK and European contacts top help drive sales specifically in these two markets
•Provide publicity support to our publishers through media contacts/specialist shops, both broadly and for specific publishers/titles, complying to GDPR protocols
•Find and collate the specialist stores to match the specialist genre publishers and create the marketing material to support these shops in the UK and Europe
•Liaise with booksellers/events to organise event stock
•Send proofs to key accounts and independents
•Submitting titles for promotions and Catalogues
•Creating presentations and supporting UK /European breakout meetings, alongside SD
•Create order forms, sell sheets, AI binders for all titles – send to sales managers and reps six months in advance
•Create email blasts
•Prepare twice-yearly Sales Conference presentation for UK and European reps
•Maintain UK and European Co-op spend grid
•Create twice-yearly catalogue for UK/Europe customers, creating mailing list and post catalogues
•Manage content to Social Media channels for UK and European interest
•Liaise with US marketing team to make the most of all marketing opportunities
•Maintain brand awareness with smaller accounts and supplying sales and marketing packs to the London Independents
•Attending and organising our presence at retail trade shows

Sales
•Initial point of contact for the trade; GBS and booksellers
•Marketing support to in-house sales departments and freelance UK/European sales teams
•Completion of key customer grids prior to meetings and at the beginning of each season for UK and European customers
•Supplying customer sales figures prior to any book fairs or key account meetings
•Manage take downs and other Amazon related publisher requests from the US
•Process customer returns claims for overstocks for damages
•Weekly monitoring of biblio data
•Update European reps/UK reps/key accounts on drop-in titles

Office Administration
•Answer telephone and deal with enquiries or forward as appropriate
•Initial point of contact for US publishers and clients on routine enquiries and task
•Ordering of all office supplies
•Order samples and organise returns
•Any other duties as necessary from time to time
•To be responsible for your own Health and Safety and be aware of factors affecting your colleagues in order to maintain a safe environment.
•To report any accidents, potential hazards to your Line Manager immediately.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

•Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
•Self-Motivated
•Excellent communication skills
•Strong sales and marketing focus – the key outcome of this plan is to drive volume
•Good organisation and planning skills
•Attention to detail
•Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
•Able to multi-task effectively
•Good time management skills
•Initiative and self-motivation
•Excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft packages
•Speed and accuracy
•Confident telephone manner

Education and Experience:

•Passion and genuine interest in pursuing a career in the industry
•Degree level desirable
•A Level / College level education essential
•GCSE English and Maths grade C or above essential
