1 How can you support IPG members?
Falcon started life in the late 1980s as a small independent typesetter based in Wallington in Surrey. Over the last 30 years we have set thousands of titles for many big publishers including Transworld, Random House, Penguin, Scholastic and Bloomsbury. Although we have some big customers our passion is working with smaller, independent publishers and helping then achieve their aims. Because we have remained small we can offer IPG members a more personal service, with unrivalled attention to detail and fast turnaround times when you need them most. Now based in Tenterden in Kent, typesetting and book design have remained at the heart of our business, but we offer a complete publishing service—keying, copy editing, cover design, graphics, proofreading, ebooks and printing.
2 What are you looking forward to most about the IPG Spring Conference?
As a relatively new member of the IPG this will be our first conference and we are really just looking forward to meeting everyone and taking in the event. Please make sure you come and say ‘hi’!
3 Can you share one top tip for independent publishers to improve their business?
Content is everything! It may seem obvious but if your content is good and well-written your product will stand a much better chance. Oh, and don’t skimp on the cover design. A well-designed cover will sell your book.
