We offer a full range of pre-press services to take projects from manuscript to final print and digital outputs. Our project management, editorial, typesetting and illustration teams all work under one roof here in the UK, allowing our experts to integrate their work. This integration ensures that we deliver titles to the highest quality in the shortest times.
3 How can you help IPG members?
We can build and manage any workflow to suit publishers’ requirements—be that end-to-end publishing services or individual tasks such as editorial or design. Wearset has been successfully working in UK publishing for more than 30 years, and with more than 400 years’ experience between them, our experts can probably handle any challenge you may throw at them.
4 What do you enjoy about working in publishing?
There’s never a dull moment! The sheer variety of subjects that come through the office, from pre-natal guides to studies of China’s public spaces to large educational textbooks, means there’s always something new for us to get excited about.
5 What do you think is the single biggest opportunity and the single biggest threat for independent publishers right now?
The biggest opportunity lies in global development creating a larger and more diverse readership. The biggest threat relates to how independent publishers can adapt their business models to remain viable during disruptive shocks such as Open Access and free-to-use content.
6 What do you get out of belonging to the IPG?
The IPG’s insights into consumer development and how the industry adapts are refreshing and educational. It could be easy to become habitual when you have long-term clients like we do, but we are keen to keep learning, growing and building new and rewarding relationships.
