The initiative which started in September has so far helped at least 10 people successfully return to work. The purpose of the job club is to help and support those who have lost their jobs from the industry and are currently unemployed. There are regular meetings in Central London and occasional meetings in Oxford. The job club advises, supports and offers some training to those who are going through a prolonged job search, restoring dignity, positive focus, adding new ideas as well as bringing them into direct contact with those recruiting. A number of key recruiters are being invited to the meetings for informal chats with potential employees. Suzanne Collier of bookcareers.com says “this is Initiative is really just an extension of the work we do all year round for clients”. As there is only limited space, registration is essential.
